So there I was, passing through Dallas on vacation and the Twins just happened to be in town as well. You’re right, I better attend a game. That may sound like an obvious thing for a Twins fan but it pains me to say that I didn’t even realize the Twins would be in Arlington a month earlier when I booked my flight. Thanks to my cousin’s ability to notice important things like that we decided to attend a game (Wed, Aug 25th) on short notice, thanks to Stub Hub.
We got to the game early enough to see Carl Pavano running poles after his start the night before. Armed with our “Viva La Stache” T-Shirts we had slim hopes of getting the Pavstache to actually sign them but decided to wait him out. He ended up running the equivalent of 2 marathons but eventually we had our chance as he walked over to sign some autographs.
When he saw the shirt he stared at it for a couple seconds looking rather dumbfounded, then he smiled, signed it, and went on his sweaty way. I tried getting a picture with him but he was still rocking the headphones and didn’t hear me. Either way I thought it was pretty sweet to get him to “Pavanograph” the shirt I made, he could have said no or punched me.
