TARGET FIELD — Since the unveiling of Kirby Puckett’s statue outside of Target Field, many Twins fans have questioned it’s aesthetic likeness to the late Twins fan favorite and MLB Hall of Famer. Talking with various Twins fans it seems many people are not pleased with the statue stating it doesn’t look much like Kirby at all, while others say it looks just fine.
The writers at TTBB have decided to create a poll asking Twins fans what they think of when they look at the new Puckett statue. Take a look at the possible poll answers and vote below so we can finally put this controversial debate to rest.
What do you think of when you look at Kirby’s statue?

I still think the Roundhouse Right gives it away…but it might be Al Newman??
So that’s what happened to Dmitri Young.
Haha, good call, now I wish I had put that up there. Perhaps it’s Dmitri Young frozen in carbonite like Han Solo?
Do you think the reason this one bears little resemblance to the real thing may have anything to do with the fact that Kirby is deceased? Thought I read that Killebrew and Carew met with the sculptor. That’s the only reason I can find for this one being so bad.
JB_Iowa, thanks for the comment. You raise a great question, I could see how actually meeting the subject may help the sculptor with the 3-D aspects.
A generic black baseball player statue.
I have seen more accurate bobble head renditions.
