MOM’S BASEMENT — After today’s game Jamey Carroll was traded to the Kansas City Royals for a slightly taller player to be named later. On the surface this looks like a good move by the Twins and one they should make. If you dig deeper, there’s more to the story.
The Twins do not like when their players show off. Whether it be Sano pimping a home run or Arcia doing something in Rochester, the Twins will notice and they will discipline you. Apparently there is one type of showing off on the field that absolutely will not be tolerated by the Twins front office. Position players pitching, or in their eyes, Show off pitching.
Yes friends, show off pitching. Jamey Carroll recently pitched an inning in relief against Kansas City. This act of showing off would not be tolerated, just like other position players before him who did the same.
Is it all making sense now?
Remember when Cuddyer pitched in Texas?
LET GO AFTER SEASON.
Remember when Butera pitched against the Brewers?
DEALT TO DODGERS.
And now Jamey Carroll. Just another position player showing off on the mound and then shown the Twins will not tolerate a non-pitcher, showing off on the mound. If the MLBPA wasn’t so strong, the Twins would have them sent to Guantanamo.
Good luck Mr. Carroll. I’m sorry the Twins did this to your hand with a hammer after pitching.
